“Get ready for a cricket score.” Those were the words of a confident sounding Joe Levy ahead of Sunday’s meeting with L’Equipe.
Having recorded 10 wins in their first 13 league matches since joining the league, life couldn’t be better for the Mill Hill crew and, averaging more than four goals a game, home fans will arrive expecting to see their heroes fill their boots.
“We are missing a few but will still have a good side out,” Levy told JC Sport. “One player has left on a Bosman claiming that he is as good as Jack Wilshere and refuses to play in the third division anymore.
“We know how much this game means to L’Equipe after blitzing them 5-0 earlier in the season - that was without Ben Zloof. Get ready for a cricket score on Sunday!”
Rob Kleinman (2) led the way in the October 19 meeting, when Harry Waterman, Adam Lenz and Scott Ackerman completed the rout.
But L’Equipe have come on in leaps and bounds since then and will be determined to give the leaders a much better game.
David Prager’s men have won four league games on the spin since that heavy defeat, beating Loughton Orient, Temple Fortune B, Boca and Jewventus and keeping three clean sheets in the process.
Three of those wins came away from home and if you look closely at L’Equipe’s form on the road, you have to say it’s mightily impressive on the whole. But they might just meet their match again on Sunday.
