Weinrich at the double for Norstar C

NLR C put the pressure on Catford after an impressive 3-1 away victory against Temple Fortune left them just two points behind the league leaders, with Jamie Weinrich and Will Ufland doing the damage.
Buoyed by recent victories, Norstar were hoping for a strong start, but fell behind after 10 minutes. The shock at falling behind to a Gavin Levy goal seemed to inspire the Oranges who started to play good football on grass.
Norstar have been less confident this season when playing on grass, as opposed to 3G, but the football they played in the first half showed all those in attendance that they can make the switch to grass and mud.
The visitors equalised midway through the first half when clever ball over the back four by Andy Cohen saw Oli Nathan's shot well saved by the Fortune keeper before Weinrich tucked home the rebound.
Norstar then found themselves ahead, a through ball left Weinrich with a one on one and he made no mistake, his fourth in two games.
Norstar were now firmly in control and scored a peach of a third. Just moments after captain Jonny Samuel's header was controversially ruled out, a corner taken by Liam Stein found Ufland on the edge of the box who's volley from the cross was sublime and Norstar were 3-1 up at the break.
The second half saw both sides battle to try and score more goals. A fine save from Norstar keeper Grant Waissel kept the score at 3-1 and despite having a hatful of chances, including hitting the post, the Oranges couldn't add to the scoreline.
Fortune boss Jonathan Cohen commented: "We had a fantastic start with good intensity early on. The injury to Ollie Squires seemed to change the game and we dropped considerably.
"I'm confident that better results will come and I'm positive we will turn it around."
