Faithfold C have not set the world alight this season. Results and performances have dipped well below what long-standing manager David Garson was expecting and now they are simply scrapping around for pride and points.
The one thing that looks guaranteed on Sunday are goals; although Fortune have kept only one clean sheet, they looked rock solid and organised against ‘Nese last time out, so anyone hoping for another 5-1 landslide victory can think again.
Fortune boss Jonathan Cohen told JC Sport: “We have almost a full quote of players available this week and my biggest problem is looking to get everyone involved after such a good win against Jewdinese.
“However, we know how big this game is for us. We were bottom of the league for so much of the season and we have no desire to be there again, but Faithfold proved to be a real handful for us last time, particularly their strikers, so we will have to on top form to win the game.
“Morale in the squad and we are looking forward to playing again after two-week break, but the weather may have the final say on Sunday morning.”
Dan Gordon and Elliot Bloom were Faithfold’s goal-scoring heroes in the corresponding fixture, but Fortune have the bit between their teeth and the signs look good for what many has labelled a home banker.
