It was a case of third time lucky for struggling Faithfold, who ended their Mill Hill hoodoo with goals from Ben Rosenblatt and Doron Hershkorn.

Mill Hill's goal came through Don Nineberg.

Faithfold assistant-manager Dan Yoss told JC Sport: "It was an absolutely terrific performance and result which gives us a real good chance to stay up this season

"There were outstanding performances from Eric Hovelesen, Matti Kleinman, Richard Jaffe and Daniel Kosky who pulled off some great saves. Ben Rosenblatt also put a great ball in for the winner. He's been one of our stars this season, I think that's his fifth goal also, not bad for a left-back!

"If the boys keep showing this attitude until the end of the season there is no chance we will go down.

It's great to go into the Christmas break with a win, although unfortunately I wasn't there to see it!"

Mill Hill boss Joe Levy told JC Sport: "It was a very disappointing result for us. It was a scrappy game and could have gone either way. Both teams hit the bar and had chances in the second half and unfortunately for us, Faithfold took theirs.

"We had only 11 players available and unfortunately we ran out of steam.

"Credit to Faithfold who look a much better unit than at the beginning of the season."
