Raiders B go eight points clear

NLR B marched eight points clear at the top of the table after completing a league double over Oakwood B.
Jonny Adelman's registered a 2-1 victory, just as I'd predicted, to claim their 12th success of the campaign.
A long-range special from Andrew McMaster and a strike from man-of-the-match Dave Esterkin sealed the points for NLR.
McMaster put NLR one up with a sweet finish. L'Orange made and wasted a hatful of chances before Esterkin made it 2-0 from a Mike Hershman cross.
But with 10 to go Oakwood pulled one back, a towering header from Josh Marlow from a corner and they might have snatched an unlikely draw with the final move of the game but Richard Bloom cleared off the line.
Adelman told JC Sport: "You know what you're going to get when you play Oakwood, but we came ready to roll our sleeves up and get muddy for the win. We created so many chances and on another day we could have been out of sight long before they pulled one back.
"Credit to Ian and his lads, they never let up and could have nicked a draw at the end.
"Overall we were more than value for the win with all 14 lads putting in a good shift.
"As we get to the business end of the season we seem to be growing in stature which bodes well for the title run in."
Oaks boss Ian Tussie told JC Sport: "We started and ended the game well but they are a well organised, very fit team epitomised by the constant running from Dave Esterkin in the middle of midfield. We pulled a goal back with 15 to go and we very nearly equalised at the end through Adam Blin, but it wasn't to be.
"We're improving and need to get that win to arrest the run of defeats."
