Oakwood B are Bloom-ing marvellous
|1 - 0|
A solitary effort from Rafi Bloom was enough to give Oakwood B maximum points over Haroldeans in the big derby at Brunel.
The decisive moment saw Bloom's cross from the right sail straight into the net.
A minute before James Abrams went through one on one but Oren Hury made a brilliant save, he stayed big and narrowed the angle and Abrams couldn't convert.
Oaks boss Ian Tussie told JC Sport: "To be honest it was bittersweet for me, it's never nice seeing your hero miss a chance like that but he'll be back.
"Overall we deserved the win, we were good in possession but lacked the final ball at times. I'm happy with the win though. I've spoken with Dave Epstein who is celebrating his 30th birthday and he confirmed he's ready to return to the squad. I ignored his text!"
Haroldeans boss Jonathan Abrams told JC Sport: "We put up a good fight in a very even game. While Oakwood saw more possession, LH had more clear cut chance but failed to capitalise.
"I don't think the 1-0 scoreline did us justice and we deserved a result for our efforts, especially as the goal was a soft wind-assisted cross.
"I'm satisfied with the levels of effort from the team and I've no doubt that our first win is around the corner."
