Loughton Orient won their last-ever match to deny L'Equipe the title, as Norstar London Raiders C were confirmed as champions.

The hosts looked solid from the word go, and as the game went on grew in confidence and started to put some dangerous moves together.

L'Equipe were doing little to trouble the orient back four and the Orient midfield were winning the battle.

With 30 minutes on the clock the deadlock was broken with a strike that was out of this world. Barry Green controlled the ball on his chest, turned and unleashed an unstoppable volley in to the top corner.

After half-time L'Equipe were applying more pressure, however they weren't finding any way through a solid defence led by skipper Ryan Kissin.

As L'Equipe were throwing more players forward, Orient made them pay with a great team move down the right that was finished superbly by Jamie Crawford after 70 minutes.

L'equipe managed to grab a consolation from the spot with the last kick of the game, but it was too late for them to rally any kind of comeback.

Loughton boss Dan Curtis told JC Sport: "We again showed today that we should of been right up there challenging for the title this year.

"We have been on a superb run lately and I think that's five or six wins on the bounce.

"The boys were superb and gave everything today. I'm proud of the whole squad and it's been a pleasure playing with them.

"We have a great spirit and always have a good laugh. Looking forward to our end of season curry!"

L'Equipe boss Dan Cordell told JC Sport: "It proved one step too far for us - we didn't perform the way we did over the past five games and I think nerves kicked in if I am being honest.

"Josh Lewis and I are so proud if everyone involved this year and I can honestly say it was a privilege for both of us to take the reigns of such a loyal, committed, friendly and honest bunch of lads. I hope we can hang on to everyone whilst building for next year.

"Congrats to Raiders on the crown and looking forward to do battle with them and the rest in Division Two next year - there is always a silver-lining.

"Well played to everyone on a brilliant season for the boys in orange."
