Hammers bypass the Lions

Hendon are off the mark for the season after goals from Jacob Gold and super-sub Danny Kon steered them past the Lions at the Lane.
Danny Daggers had opened the scoring for the Lions, but Hendon responded well and slowly but surely got into our stride and deservedly drew level through Gold.
The visitors upped their game further in the second half, and were far tighter at the back. Eventually their pressure told with a fantastic run and cross by Yoav Kestenbaum which was turned in by sub Kon. Hendon were then able to close out the game quite comfortably.
Hendon boss David Garbacz told JC Sport: "We started sluggishly - probably some boys were still feeling the after effects of Yom Kippur, and found ourselves 1-0 down in the first part of the match.
"I felt we deserved the win although lions always looked dangerous when coming forward and they have some very talented youngsters to look out for.
"I'm pleased that we have secured our first win of the season and we have made a nice solid start."
