A goal from James Gold saw Lions Blue boost their survival hopes with a hard-fought win over Faithfold at Chase Lodge.

An Argy through ball split open the defence and Gold rounded Ben Law before slotting it home at an acute angle - a very well-taken goal.

The match was marred by an injury to Faithfold top-scorer Mike Pearson who was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

LML boss Jamie Kyte told JC Sport: "Massive win for us today and the best team performance all season.

"It wasn't pretty today and the bobbly pitch made it hard for us to play our fluid football.

"It's nice to go into the Pesach break with a win, hopefully we'll continue this form in May."

Faithfold boss Zuriel Solomon told JC Sport: "The match had an end-of-season feel about it - the result was bad for us, but I think we will have to win a few games to stay up so work still to do."
