An injury-time winner from Ryan Cole saw Chigs dent NWN's promotion hopes with as the east Londoners returned to winning ways following their cup exit.

Jubilant Chigs boss Richard Slater told JC Sport: "It was a really even game - both teams hit the woodwork and, at times, it wasn't pretty, but I did feel we just shaded it and the scoreline reflects that.

"Some of our play was superb - the winning goal saw superb through ball from Pearlo and finished well by Coley, but at other times it was shocking.

"The lads kept going and dug in brilliantly. Top effort."

NWN boss Stirling Kay told JC Sport: "It was a very even game with both missing key players; we had more of the ball over the 90 minutes, but our final ball and decision-making let us down, whereas Chigwell, when they did get forward, looked dangerous and made our keeper work.

"The winner came with the last kick of the game, which was a massive blow, because the last 15 minutes we were putting them under pressure. But it's goals that win games and they scored and we did not.

"As a team we gave everything; the lads left nothing on the pitch and as a manager you can ask for no more. We just need to improve in our decision-making. That also includes myself as the manager, I have had better days!
