Boca ooze six appeal
|6 - 3|
Dovi Fehler maintained his excellent run of form with a treble to make it 10 in seven games as Boca exacted revenge on promotion-chasing L'Equipe with an impressive 6-3 win in Pinner.
This match had great importance as Boca were beaten 4-3 earlier in the season in a game where Dan Ezra suffered a dislocated his shoulder after a bad fall.
With Jack Shulman away, Viv Emanuel took charge of Boca - his first game in charge for about nine years. Boca had their strongest team out this week which included the returning Adam Kay and Ricky Zierderman.
It was L'Equipe who got off to a dream start when top-scorer Richard Fogelman finished well early on with a good solo effort. However, the scoreline quickly moved to 2-2 within the first 15 minutes, with Fehler and an 18-yard strike from Ami Wynbourne put Boca ahead, but it was game on after L'Equipe hauled themselves level.
Both teams battled hard and more goals were definately forecast. Boca had the lions-share of the possession and made it count. Fehler got his second on the half hour mark. Then, Michael Patterson scored what Emanuel described as "the goal of the season for Boca". - the goalkeeper knocked the ball out, Patterson brought it down and seeing the keeping of his line took two touches and from the edge of the centre circle neatly chipped it over the goalkeeper with power and accuracy.
Going in 4-2 at half-time, Emanuel made his players know that L'Equipe were "perfectly capable of fighting and coming back into the game". The players heeded his words and didn't let the visitors a sniff, and within 10 minutes of the restart a well-worked goal saw Fehler get a well deserved hat-trick - making it 10 goals in seven games - not bad for a player who before this season was a centre midfielder.
Boca then made two changes, with Kane Alexander coming on for Ami Wynbourne and Anton for Ricky Ziederman. One player that had a few chances and shaped the left wing was Yehoshua Silverman; he had two good chances saved but finally got the goal he deserved with 15 to go. He ran on to a slick pass from the centre of midfield and slotted the ball in to the top left hand corner of the goal - the goalkeeper came close but not close enough. 6-2!
Before these two goals went in, Boca conceded a penalty - up stepped Fogelman who slotted it into the left corner, however a very alert Michael Sidloff in goal went coolly down to his left and saved well, maintaining his 100 per cent record of saving spot-kicks this seasons from two.
L'Equipe completed the scoring to make it 6-3 after a good period of pressure.
A proud Emanuel told JC Sport: "It was a great game that had it all - credit has to go referee Steve Russell - he controlled the game superbly; there were some flash points at times but he did great. Thank you Steve.
"L'Equipe are very good team and we are very proud as a team to get a result."
