Members of London's Indian and Jewish communities joined forces for a Bollywood dance evening in Edgware.
Organised by four Hasmonean year nine girls, the cross-cultural event supported the Wings of Hope charity, providing educational facilities in India and Malawi.
The girls decorated a hall at the Edgware Yeshurun synagogue in suitable style and arranged henna body art for guests.
Dancers from the nearby Indian community taught participants the steps to a traditional Indian routine.
More than 70 people attended and £700-plus was realised for Wings of Hope.
"We wanted to raise money for the charity by doing something with a connection to it," explained Yael Holder, 14, who organised the event with Ilana Khadhouri, Yaeli Simon and Talia Hannuna. "It was a really different night."
