An award recognising religious strength has been presented to the Albanian ambassador in thanks to the Albanians who saved Jews during the Holocaust.

At a London Jewish Cultural Centre reception at Ivy House, the envoy, Zef Mazi, received an interfaith gold medallion from the Three Faiths Forum.

LJCC Holocaust education and anti-racism director Richard Goldstein said the award chimed with the HMD theme of Untold Stories. "This is one that even many Holocaust educators have never heard about. It's also an inspiring interfaith story." Community leaders and ambassadors from Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia and Kosovo were also at the reception, where two films about Jewish refugees in Albania were screened.
