Liberals thank their patrons at a party
Liberal Judaism held its seventh annual Council of Patrons' dinner at the House of Lords. More than 80 donors to the movement were entertained by TV comedy writer Dan Patterson. In his address, Liberal Judaism's chief executive Rabbi Danny Rich spoke of how he would like to see patrons' donations used in 2011. He said: "There is an area that has become urgent: university students." To help students on campus cope with anti-Israel sentiment and antisemitism he pledged to move patrons' resources into employing a student worker attached to the LJY-Netzer youth department.
