130 South Manchester shul members enjoyed a Friday night Shabbaton to celebrate Tu Bishvat. A four course meal was prepared by community members and Rabbi Dovid. Even the flowers were good enough to eat being made from fruit!
130 South Manchester shul members enjoyed a Friday night Shabbaton to celebrate Tu Bishvat. A four course meal was prepared by community members and Rabbi Dovid. Even the flowers were good enough to eat being made from fruit! Dalia Reznik, from the Mill Hill US community, baked 910 bulkas (traditional Jewish South African cinnamon buns) and raised £520 for the Shaare Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem, Gift and Project Seed. More than 30 people heard amateur historian Malcolm Simon (centre) speak about the French Rothschild family at a South Manchester Synagogue cultural committee event. The initiative raised almost £20,000 for the committee's current project in the Negev Limmud co-founder Clive Lawton was the guest of honour at Watford Synagogue's annual melava malka. Alongside him is shul chair Ronnie JacobBest selling author Simon Sebag Montefiore launched the LJS Book Club at the Liberal Jewish Synagogue in St. John’s Wood
