Learn more about Van Gogh before seeing the exhibition at the Royal Academy, The Real Van Gogh: The Artist and His Letters which starts on 23 January and
continues through until April 2010.
In a tragically short career lasting only a few years Vincent Van Gogh produced and painted around 900 pictures and wrote almost as many letters. Many of the paintings are amongst the best known and most widely loved of all time. The letters provide a moving narrative of the artists life and offer fascinating insights into his creativity. This exhibition will explore the relationship between the art and the letters.
