To tie in with the Miro exhibition opening at the Tate Modern 14 April – 11 September 2011, Joshua White will be lecturing on this fascinating painter.
Joan Miro was one of Europe's leading Surrealist artists who invented a pictorial language which resembles the naivety and exuberance of children's art. This exhibition reveals how Miro became engaged in the political debates of his time, particularly the civil war in his native Spain during the 1930s.
Joshua is a professional art historian and lecturer with Christie's Education. He has also been a Lecturer on board P & O's cruise liner The Ventura and a Lecturer and Guide in The History of Art, Design and Visual Culture in the Tate Britain, Tate Modern and The Courtauld Gallery among others.
