(Israel 2008; Episode 4, 45’, Director Uri Barbash)
This groundbreaking TV drama centres around two female chefs, one Palestinian and one Israeli, co-hosting a cookery show. The two women develop an intimate bond, defying the uncompromising opposition each faces from her own friends and family. Good Intentions offers an unusual opportunity for both sides to see the human face of the so-called enemy.
Behind the Intentions
(Israel 2008, 49’, Director Ayelet Bargur)
The Parents’ Circle – Families Forum (PCFF) brings together hundreds of Israeli and Palestininan families who have lost
loved ones in the Arab – Israeli conflict.
In 2006 the group began filming Good Intentions. Based on the experiences of the PCFF members, it was intended to be a fictional version of the conflict, showing ordinary Israeli and Palestinian families trying to live together in peace under the enormous
daily stress of a region at war.
The screenings will be followed by Q&A with members of Parents Circle-Families Forum/ Israeli - Palestinian Bereaved Families for Peace.
Post Screening Party
All ticket holders are invited to our Good Intentions inspired post Screening Party – a special event celebrating the tastes and sounds of the Middle East, and exploring possibilities of promoting co-existence and positive dialogue through food.
