Outside Aldgate East tube, main exit on corner of Leman Street
The Jewish community may no longer live in Spitalfields but the streets and buildings still evoke memories of the synagogues, Yiddish theatre, schools and soup kitchens. Our walking tour with Blue Badge Guide Rachel Kolsky ends with a visit to the hidden gem of Sandys Row Synagogue. Remodelled within an 18th century Huguenot chapel for the early Dutch Jewish community, this synagogue, founded in 1854, is one of the oldest in London.
