Work has begun on the renovation of the kosher restaurant at Liverpool's Jewish Community Centre, Harold House.
Centre manager Stephen Simpson said: "Walls are being knocked through and double doors are being installed to cater for wheelchair users and disabled people."
It is anticipated that the restaurant, which closed in August for refurbishment and then last month suffered smoke damage after youths started a fire, should be back in business within three months.
