Hertsmere Jewish Primary School invited 60 children from a multicultural Watford primary for a programme designed to broaden understanding of other cultures. The visitors from Chater Junior School were given a tour of Elstree and Borehamwood Synagogue by Rabbi Naftali Brawer before joining HJPS pupils for lunch and an afternoon programme of team games and Israeli singing and dancing. The exchange was arranged by HJPS deputy head Florence Asher, who said: "We were aware as a Jewish school that our children do not often have the chance to meet children from a variety of cultural backgrounds."
