Manchester synagogue elder honoured with the naming of a bi-annual lunch in his memory
A synagogue elder has been honoured with the naming of a bi-annual lunch in his memory. Manchester Reform Synagogue has named the event the Sydney Morley Memorial Lunch, in tribute to the synagogue trustee who passed away just before Rosh Hashanah, aged 92. The lunch had been the brainchild of Mr Morely. At the gathering, senior congregants who are unable to attend services, get together and also enjoy a catered meal. Mr Morley had served in every official role on the shul's council and executive. More than 70 people attended the occasion.
