Fundraiser Bernard Williams has been honoured with a kiddish on his 90th birthday by Beth Hamidrash Synagogue. A staunch worker for the Junior Organisation of the Leeds Jewish Charities back in the 1950s, Mr Williams and his wife Shirley have also worked for Leeds Jewish Blind Society's functions committee since 1957. Mr Williams, who has raised funds for the shul for 40 years and has chaired the shul's leisure club for 20 years, said he was delighted with the shul's tribute. Synagogue president Dan Cohen said: "Bernard has been a stalwart of BHH. His long involvement with the shul has helped many fundraising projects for which we are ever grateful."
