Some 170 people attended Bournemouth Hebrew Congregation's communal Simchat Torah lunch. The chatanim were Rabbi Adrian Jesner and Brian Lassman, the neshei chayil Katarina Webb and Mandy Glazer, and the junior honorees Charles Graham, Daniel Sharland, Leonie Glazer and Eden Igla. The lunch was also an opportunity for the community to say farewell to its chazan, Reverend Meir Lev and his wife, Carol. Shul president, Harvey Lipsith, thanked him for his dedicated assistance for the past three and a half years. At the synagogue's last annual meeting, congregants were told that the shul could no longer afford to retain the services of a full-time chazan.
