“Cooking from the Heart” at Kent House
Muslims and Jews will take part in an inspiring day of cultural activities in cooperation with the Islamic Centre of England and the Ramadan Festival.
The event culminates in an evening of Jewish and Arabic music, food and comedy featuring well-known comedians Shazia Mirza and Josh Howie, which is open to the public. Food will be prepared and served for one another, in a day of giving between the two communities.
The food will be donated and some of the volunteers involved will cook together sharing methods, stories and the joy of making and giving food.
The cheder will invite Muslim children to share all their Mitzvah Day activities in one of the few fully mixed faith Mitzvah Days in the country. A voluntary admission donation is requested to cover costs.
