Swim girl Dani Jacobson making a TV splash

August 1, 2008

Twelve-year-old charity swimmer Dani Jacobson is a finalist in Channel Five's "Britain's Kindest Kids" competition.

As the JC reported in June, North London Collegiate pupil Dani and her sister Talya, who has learning difficulties, swam 22 miles to raise over £23,000, the bulk of it for Norwood.

The finalists will be featured in a Five News item being aired during bulletins at 5pm and 7pm today. Viewers will be given a phone number for votes and will have until Monday to support their favourite. The winner will be announced on Tuesday and will receive a £1,000 prize, plus a £1,000 voucher from co-sponsor the Charities Aid Foundation to donate to the charity of their choice.

Dani is "overwhelmed at the attention this challenge has received. There were times when it felt like very hard work. But the support I received from family and friends was just great."
