Limmud’s Valley peaks
The third Thames Valley day Limmud drew 250 people to Leighton Park School for a programme ranging from silk painting and kipah-making to lectures on Jewish history and relations with Muslims.
Reading Hebrew Congregation, Maidenhead Synagogue, the Oxford Jewish Congregation and Liberal Judaism organised the event, which attracted participants from as far afield as Swindon, Bath, Bristol and London.
Among the speakers were Limmud founder Clive Lawton, rabbis Jonathan Romain and Sybil Sheridan and Mustafa Chaudhary from the Reading Muslim Council.
Chairman Danny Allen attributed the day's success to the eight months of preparation by the organising team.
Participant Tony Perkin said: "The organisation was very good and the eclectic mix of topics was extremely enjoyable."
