Habonim attracted more than 40 youngsters to the first of its fortnightly activities at its North Manchester home at the Prestwich-based Maccabi Centre. Northern fieldworker Marc Fink said: "It was a fantastic way to start the year. Parents are constantly telling us there are not enough Jewish activities for their children. By putting on activities we are responding to this demand." In South Manchester, over 25 leaders and participants attended a fun introductory session to the movement at the Jubilee Centre, Bowdon.
