We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it

Some dedicated bridge players have added £15,000 to the Norwood coffers.

More than 50 supporters joined Sunday’s 10 Bridges walk, starting near Vauxhall Bridge and finishing beyond Tower Bridge. The route afforded views of landmarks including the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye and St Paul’s Cathedral.

Nine-year-old north Londoner Henry Schmidt was one of the youngest participants, completing the 13-mile course with his father Mark in four hours 11 minutes.

“I can highly recommend the walk as a great way to see London,” Mr Schmidt said. “Henry was determined to get to the end, however long it took.”
