Gunners mascot finds life is just Champion
Jamie Epstein on his big night
It was a dream come true for seven-year-old Jamie Epstein when he walked onto the Emirates Stadium pitch with favourite player Jack Wilshere before Arsenal's 2-1 Champions League victory over Barcelona.
Being one of the Arsenal mascots was the Rosh Pinah pupil's prize in a Junior Gunners draw, which his dad Darren entered him for after spotting the details online.
"It didn't say what the prize was - I presumed it was for a kit or a ball," Mr Epstein said.
"But then two days before the match they called and said that he had won and that the prize was to be a mascot. We were all so happy."
For Jamie, a regular at Arsenal matches, "it was such a fantastic game to be a mascot for".
And besides his team's stirring first-leg victory over the competition favourites, there was the additional pleasure for Jamie of Wilshere being named man of the match.
