Southgate Progressive Synagogue has been making good use of its revamped community hall after a facelift that cost more than £220,000.
Synagogue chairwoman Mandi Dobias said the facility, which includes disabled access, "has the wow factor. The hall is done in wonderful taste." The refitted hall also houses a new bimah and stained glass windows. "It can also fulfill its existing uses for the community, such as for cheder activities and the Jewish Care club, while still being a religious space."
The refurbishment was ready for the High Holy Days. Mrs Dobias added: "It was a new year in a brand new hall."
