Friends and family of Jason Boas, who died of pancreatic cancer at 34, have climbed Kilimanjaro to raise £105,000 for a charity in his honour.

No Surrender was established to provide a networking website for other cancer sufferers. The site has 500 members and the charity also funds the Jason Boas fellowship at University College Hospital, London, which is carrying out research into pancreatic cancer.

Climbers included Jason's brother, Andrew and his friend Spencer Grant. Sixteen out of 21 climbers made it to the peak. Mr Grant said: "The trek went well. However, a few trekkers developed high altitude pulmonary edema and couldn't make it to the top."
