The Leeds Mitzvah Chain completed another leg of its journey across the community.
Geoff Caplan, chairman of Donisthorpe Hall, handed over the mitzvah menorah baton on behalf of the care home to Rabbi Jason Kleiman of Beth Hamidrash Hagadol Synagogue.
The mitzvah project, organised by Leeds emissary Gilad Amit, aims at motivating communal organisations to perform good deeds for each other.
Donisthorpe received the baton last month from Sinai Synagogue's Roger Lawford at a musical entertainment given at the home by Sinai members.
Rabbi Kleiman, who will now find an appropriate recipient to keep the chain going said the notion that each communal organisation can do a mitzvah and then pass it on to another to continue the link is "a lovely project. We have a wonderful custom in Judaism that one mitzvah should lead to another."
Mr Amit said: "By combining forces we can show that in the Leeds community there is great co-operation. At the end of the chain people will be able to see how the forces come together."
