Nightingale awards Oscars to staff stars
An Oscar-themed awards ceremony celebrated the dedication of staff at the Nightingale care home in south London.
Employees were invited to nominate colleagues for awards for leadership, team work, best newcomer and shining star. A tea at the Ritz and a Thames cruise were among the prizes.
From over 80 nominations, the winners were head of housekeeping Mary Glynn (best leader), senior health care assistant Roselyn Singh (best team worker) and activities co-ordinator Esther Haines (best newcomer). Health care assistant Donald Garcia was adjudged the shining star for his enthusiasm and new ideas.
Presenting the awards, chief executive Leon Smith said: "The ceremony recognises the skills and quality of our staff that allows Nightingale to provide the best care. I am proud to be rewarding our high achievers."
