Rabbi puts his energy into savings
A rabbi’s energy company which donates half its profits to Jewish causes has won an industry award for saving customers money.
Former Sale Hebrew Congregation minister Rabbi Motty Broder founded the Affiliated Utilities consultancy in 2009. It now manages £80 million of energy spending annually for domestic and commercial clients nationwide, including Jewish schools and care homes.
The firm — which won best small north-west consultancy in the Energy Live awards — donates 25 per cent of its profits to Jewish causes.
