Jewish Care was forced into a late substitution when Glenn Hoddle had to pull out of its Redbridge sports breakfast with less than 24 hours' notice due to the ill health of his mother.
Former England and Arsenal star Paul Merson stepped into the breach in front of a predominantly Spurs-supporting audience.
In conversation with sports broadcaster Matt Lorenzo, Merson recalled his naivety on entering the profession and his years of partying.
He described his current role as a Sky Sports match reporter as "the second best job in the world, behind professional footballer".
