More than 60 women and girls took a late-night stroll at the weekend to raise £25,000 for Kisharon, which helps children and adults with learning disabilities.
Participants in Kisharon's second Ladies’ Moonlight Walk set out from Alexandra Palace at 11.30 on Saturday night, returning to Ally Pally in the early hours of Sunday, having completed either a 10k or 20k route through Hampstead and Golders Green.
The youngest walker was 10-year-old Sinai schoolgirl Jessica Yefet from Edgware.
Power-walking sisters Zahava, Kitti and Haviva Raymond from Hendon opted for the 20k challenge but, after trudging up Primrose Hill, joked about getting the bus home.
Zahava Raymond said there was a family motivation for taking part. “Our mother [Barbara] teaches at Kisharon's Tuffkid Nursery, which has mainstream kids and those with special needs. People stopped to ask what we were doing and gave us money. It was a good night.”
