Mosaic, the Jewish primary school opening in south London in September, has found permanent premises in Roehampton.
The intention is to purchase a surplus, Wandsworth Council-owned building, Hartfield House, in Roehampton Lane and for the free school to open in temporary accommodation in Wimbledon and move to Hartfield House in September 2015. The permanent location is served by many bus routes covering the widespread Jewish community south of the river.
Council leader Ravi Govindia said: “This is set to be a very satisfactory outcome for Mosaic Jewish Primary School and local parents. If planning consent is granted, the school will have a permanent home and be in a much better position to plan ahead for its long-term future.”
MJPS chair Shirley Lee was “delighted with the support we have received from so many parents. We look forward to joining the family of Wandsworth primary schools with our aspirations of inspiring, respecting and excelling.”
