Tirelessly active

March 1, 2012

Activists for Israel within our community can feel rather lonely at times. Israel's enemies are many, they distort the truth with impunity and the media seems to be dominated by a knee-jerk hostility.

But as Lorna Fitzsimons, the outgoing chief of Bicom, says in her piece, we have more allies than we think. Ms Fitzsimons is one of them. As a non-Jew running the country's leading Israel advocacy group, she has been tireless in promoting peace and attempting to bring context to some of the preconceptions held by many in the media. With London as the main global media hub, Bicom's work is ever more essential. Ms Fitzsimons deserves the gratitude of all friends of Israel.
