Risible hate claims
Given our history, it is hardly surprising that our community has developed razor-sharp antennae for antisemitism.
But sometimes they are so sharp that we end up cutting ourselves. The row over Nike's World Cup ad, which some claim contains subliminal antisemitism because the evil clones are wearing a Magen David, is a case in point. It no more looks like the Star of David than does a star in an illustration of Twinkle Twinkle. And those who make such risible claims of antisemitism not only look foolish; they undermine the fight against all too real examples which are, as all the evidence shows, on the rise.
