'This is a dangerous trend that distorts the army's character and causes revulsion among most Israelis. It behooves Chief of Staff Benny Gantz to take steps to stifle this trend before it's too late.'

Revulsion...that's a good word for it.

Iris I'd check check your facts before you publish anything written in Ha'aretz this whole report is a lie from beginning to end. From the Muqata blogsite

Attempting to spin up more internal strife in Israel, Haaretz lets loose with another anti-religious article, designed to make your blood boil...and "cleverly" contrast previously reported "anti-feminist" behavior by religious soldiers in the IDF.

Too bad Haaretz was more interested in writing an inflammatory article than in ignoring a non-issue. Following is a first hand, eye-witness report, from one of the female soldiers present -- translated from rotter

"[Haaretz Reporter] Anshel Pfeffer wrote an article in Haaretz with a headline that hundreds of Female IDF soldiers angrily left a Simchat Torah event after being forced to celebrate in a segregated area. This is a lie and absolutely false.

I am a female IDF solider that was there in the Eshkol Regional Council [at the Simchat Torah event]. The seperation was via long tables, which were regular table height, and they had food and refreshments on them. We all danced in merriment. No one thought there was an issue to mix the sides, because the dancing was similar to the hakafot (Simcaht Torah dancing) in a synagogue and not one of us [who were dancing] left.

There were some "Ashkenazi" soldiers who left because the event didn't interest them...and if anything, there was about 30 of them that left, not "hundreds".

Signed,

Netanela
(phone number is with the rotter website editors)
I would add that when IDF cadets walked out from an IDF event of women singing, because it offended their religious sensibilities -- the IDF summarily threw the cadets out of their officers' course. Even though the Haaretz article isn't factually correct, why should the IDF soldiers and their commanders have gone unpunished for "angrily walking out of an event?" Not that Haaretz would ever ask such a question...

Iris that's what happens when an intelluctually challenged bigot (i.e. you) tries to defame the Israel/the religious/IDF next time don't bother and stick to what are you are good at - posting inane comments.

Oh stop with the Jose thing Neglectful but I am not surpised at your typically intellectually bankrupt response when it has been demonstrated that the story you chose to post in a futile attempt to denigrate Israel has been shown to be a complete fabrication just live with it - bigot.

He doesn't have time to go price tagging. He has too much ineffectual typing to do.

I would imagine so. Anonymous bloggers tend to have more credibility/accountability/etc than major national newspapers in my experience.

Its hard to convey sarcasm in type but I hope this goes some way towards it.

Yes it's hilarious how he constantly digs up excrutiatingly lengthy drivel from some obscure bloggster on some obscure blog site, and thereby announces that something is " proved " or that someone has " been shown to be wrong "

Obviously real real Phony the truth must not get in the way of your agenda but only to be expected based on your input to this website. I see you still keep posting with a picture of a rabid anti-Zionist rather telling.
To assist you, for you obviously are unable to to use logic nor read more than three lines of print such is your ADHD neither you nor Neglectful was at the Simchat Torah party nor in fact was Anshell Pfeffer so let's see according to you someone who was actually there knows less about what went on than you do - yes in your world that that is perhaps logical.
Ha'aretz has a problem - quite a number of its journalists (even the ones who profess to be religious)hate religious Jews so they twist stories to suit their agenda unfortunately for them they've been caught out too many times to say it's inadvertent.
