I take it that you both feel that it is more important to discover the motives of the author as opposed to discussing the topic which is Lush's refusal to open a store in Israel while happily operating in Saudi Arabia. |
5 August, 2011 - 09:53 Rate this: 0 points | Lush practise gender apartheid in Saudi Arabia, as they comply with Saudi law which states that no woman can work in a shop. What an "ethical" company. The hypocrisy and lies make you sick. Don't worry, Lush have protests coming to their doors soon. |

5 August, 2011 - 10:26 Rate this: 0 points | I'm sure they're quaking just as much as the Israeli govt at these silly tent protests which are so dear to your extreme left wing world view. |
5 August, 2011 - 11:29 Rate this: 2 points | I do hope that this issue is publicised. From what I have read online Lush have said that the issue is vastly complex and goes back thousands of years (obviously correct) if that is true why have they taken sides - why don't they remain neutral? E.g. Don't open shops in Israel and don't support Palestine either. However I am sure that economically it pays more for them to take their current viewpoint. Their ethics appear to be little more than a gimmick to sell more soap. And Joe, re your comment - I am sure that they are not quaking in their boots, they know they can get away with it so they do. However I think that the general public (not just JC readers) should be aware that Lush have double standards. Taking away anti semitism and where one stands on the issue of the occupied territories etc it is still ridiculous for them to claim they can't operate in Israel for ethical reasons but rake in cash in Saudi. |
