I just read an interesting article in haaretz by Yossi Melman, entitled - 'Should, and can, Israel attack Iran's nuclear facilities'. I didnt though, see a mention of the enormous elephant in the room. Israel is already in possession of over 200 nuclear weapons. It obtained these by clandestine means; it has not, and will sign the NPT; its possession of these illegal weapons is not subject to any international sanction, or indeed mention. It is demonstrably the most aggressive state in the ME, and indeed the biggest threat to peace in the ME. The double standard is transparently clear, and makes Israel's position on the possible aquisition of nukes by Iran, utterly preposterous.
Then we have the USA - the only state to have used nuclear weapons; the state responsible for in excess of 100,000 deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan, and over 1 million in Vietnam; the state in possession of thousands of nuclear weapons; the state that has invaded and/or attacked more countries since ww2, than all the remaining permanent security council members put together. It is demonstrably the most aggressive state in the world, and indeed the biggest threat to world peace.
If this was not such a serious matter, with likely tragic consequences, one would not be able to stop laughing. I do hope the American people appreciate the trebling of oil prices after America has allowed its berserker client to run amok once more.
