- that is totally wrong. The Yom Kippur War broke out with intelligence chiefs NOT giving ANY warnings: this is fully documented many times over.

Almost 40 years later, the name of THE intelligence chief at the outbreak of the Yom Kippur war, Major-General Eli Zeira, is still a name lacking in respect.

I cast no aspersions whatsoever on Dagan's credibilty; I have extreme respect for the man, his capabilities, his personal bravery and his many achievements.

That still makes his opinion just one of a few that are equally valuable.

Dagan might be the next Israeli PM. Hopefully, he will be. He certainly was a good head of Mossad.
