Chris Patten Big supporter of Palestinian rights to be new BBC chairman

Chris Patten, who works so hard as chairman of Medical aid for Palestine MAP is to become chairman of the BBC.
It is a pity that he was not there at the time of the Gaza massacre when Mark Thomson did not allow the appeal for the charities. It is wonderful news.

Well, it cannot make the BBC more anti-Israeli than it already is, can it?

If this appointment is confirmed, it is shameful.

Patten is the very embodiment of the thick, ignorant, useless, chinless British upper classes. The man has made a mess of everything he's touched.

If he does become BBC chairman, it'll be one more step in Britain's downward spiral towards national suicide.

simoneq, an individual who turns up on a Jewish website to trumpet Iranian military power, a state where anti-Semitism is official policy - likes Chris Patten. This is the same Chris Patten who sent millions of European taxpayers' money directly into the private coffers of the arch-terrorist, Yassir Arafat. The aid money which went missing was brought to his attention, and an inquiry was suggested - to ensure future aid money went to where it was required, rather into provate Swiss bank accounts. Patten decared "We need this inquiry like a hole in the head."

he didn't care. And that sums up Chris Patten - and why rabid Jewbaiters like simoneq like him.

to be a strong critic of many of the extreme policies of Israel does not mean that one is antisemitic. I have many jewish israeli friends who hate what their country is becoming. in particular they are ashamed often to admit they are israeli when they travel, not because of fear for their safety but because they well know how dreadfully the palestinians are being trated. But I must say they laugh if someone suggests that they are antisemitic:-)

"to be a strong critic of many of the extreme policies of Israel does not mean that one is antisemitic"

Calling the necessary steps Israel is taking to defend herself 'extreme' IS antisemitic.

"I have many jewish israeli friends"

Yes, that's what most antisemites say.

"because they well know how dreadfully the palestinians are being trated"

Utter fantasy. There are no 'Palestinians', and the Arabs are being treated far more leniently than any other nation in history that tried to wipe out its neighbour.

By the way simoneq, how your grandfather called himself in 1948? 'Palestinian'? No way! During 19 years, they were under Jordanian rule and didn't protest a bit, because they were the same people.
'Palestinians' is a historical hoax of a people. There is no (specific) 'Palestinian' culture, language, art or history. Building a people takes centuries and the world 'Palestinian' was invented after 1964.

Plenty of people, including on this blog, know that it's a complete fabrication: they are Arabs.

about 23 people contibute to this blog. Millions buy The Times, Telegraph etc Le Monde Figaro all of whom write about the Palestinians. This must really hurt poor Yoni1 or is it Jonathan? the Palestinians really do exist and you can do nothing about it. We are laughing at you!

simoneq, you are a bigot - that is why I oppose your presence here. This is nothing to do with a "different point of view" - and everything to do with hate speech, which is what you are engaged in. Whenever you blog, it is not a specific criticism about this or that policy - it is an attack on an entire country - without specifics. That is called demonization, and it is certainly bigoted to endlessly and EXCLUSIVELY attack an entire country and her people.

What exactly is the purpose of this blog? What does it tell us? That someone who is anti-Israel, who refused to investigate the disappearance of millions in aid money into the coffers of a terrorist - is a good choice for the BBC, not despite the above, but because of it?

Time you went.

The line about " My Israeli friends" is like the "some of my best frinds are gay" or "some of my best friends are black" cliche.

What does that prove simoneq? I know Arabs who are supportive of Israel.

What a farce.

what a joke. Everything YOU write about Palestinians is totally bigoted. I have a right as someone who is jewish to say what I feel about what Israel.

I find the constant accusation that one is antisemitic for being a critic of Israel so stupid.

Are my Israeli friends also antisemitic because they are members of Gush Shalom?

The world has changed but obviously you have not.

Icidentally, your bigotry comes from demonizing an entire nation, and I would invite you to provide evidence of your accusation that " Everything YOU write about Palestinians is totally bigoted.

Just one quote will do.

And what has being Jewish got to do with "having the right to criticize Israel"? Is it therefore wrong for a non-Jew to do so?

Haven't really thought that one through, have you?

How telling your assumptions are.

Now the antisemitic scum Simoneq is supporting the Nazi Hamas, and pathetically tries to prove this is justified by pointing to Western newspapers written by thick idiots totally ignorant of ME history, who have fallen victim to Arabo-fascist propaganda, as though this proves something.

Simoneq: racist, thick, and poisonous.

I see simoneq - and your inability to answer the question has nothing to do with it?

Thi is a question - it is not a statement of hatred or bigotry. For all your flapping and obfuscation, nothing hides the fact that you are rendered speechless by one question - thus demonstrating that not even you believe the crap you spout.

Here's a little quote for you:

"There are no differences between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. We are all part of one nation. It is only for political reasons that we carefully underline our Palestinian identity.... yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity serves only tactical purposes. The founding of a Palestinian state is a new tool in the continuing battle against Israel."
- Zuheir Muhsin, late Military Department head of the PLO and member of its Executive Council (Dutch daily Trouw, March 1977)

It is interesting that you are more extreme in this reagard than the Military Department of the PLO.

Face it simoneq, you have made a complete arse of yourself here.
