Israeli ex-President Moshe Katzav awaits sentencing after being convicted of rape last month.
But he still commands support from a group of Israeli rabbis who believe in his innocence. See this story on Failed Messiah.

To be honest I've just been to the pub and it's all a bit much now. I believe in God and you don't. Can we just agree to disagree?
(Although I still think I'm right)

I didn't disappear, Amber, I have a life away from arguing about semantics. But no Israel wouldn't lose its raison d'être if state and religion were separated. It would just mean that its turbulent priests would have to rely on other sources of income rather than the state.

It has nothing to do with being an atheist, Matt: why should it? I am addressing the issue entirely dispassionately. I have no axe to grind, since I do not follow any religion.
Deciding that you must be right after 6 pints is not a reliable proposition :)

One really has to be one sad loser to mark down a post such as the above. Get a life, you waste of protoplasm.

Since people disagreeing with Joe Millis get marked down whereas Millis gets marked up I presume he is the one doing the marking, with his many accounts.

He must have at least 3 more accounts, doing some basic arithmetic and noting the speed at which the negative points have appeared over the past 15 minutes.
What a monumental loser you are, Millis.

Yup, Millis, you sure are. Your parents must be real proud of you. At least in front of the neighbours, anyway. In private, they probably feel suicidal at how you've turned out.

I have just got back after a very enjoyable day at shul and then Twickenham and I see this. I can say without fear of contradiction that yoni isn't fit to lick the boots of my parents and I wish him and his alter-ego Jose a long and excruciatingly painful death. Starting as soon as possible.
