His view on some things has changed, but its funny how a lot of the stuff he said back then is still very relevant today.

Was watching Exodus the other day, and paul Newman said something along the lines of...He (the person in question) will sell us out like all the others, in the end we can only rely on ourselves. As a Jew I know the only country I can rely on to care for my needs is Israel, so the world can either like it or lump it. Also, ironic how you call Bibi a liar. I think he speaks nothing but the truth. He told Obama the Right of Return ain't gonna happen, he told the world that Jerusalem will never be divided. I know the truth might not be what you want to hear, but you have to respect the guy for telling it like it is. |

7 June, 2011 - 14:24 Rate this: 0 points | The idea that the world's most dependent country can tell the world to like it or lump it is hilarious. The world , including the US, has made up its mind what it wants and will get it. It isn't anywhere near Bibi's vision. |

I mean last time i looked Israel's economy was, how a young one might phrase, smashing it. However, if you mean dependent on G-d, that i can agree with |

The previous time I looked Israel was dependent for its very existence on the iron shield of American diplomatic protection, without which it wouldn't last five minutes. |
8 June, 2011 - 10:09 Rate this: 0 points | Watched The Promise, didn't rate the acting in it. The story line was quite inventive though, very imaginative! If the writer got his historical facts right, maybe he could’ve made a documentary as opposed to a drama series. Also Jon, Israel receives around $3 billion of aid from the US. Although I am grateful for this, unfortunately the aid stipulates that it has to be reinvested back into the American economy via the purchase of over inflated weaponry from US firms. Israel's GDP as of the end of 2010 was $217 billion, which is actually is comparable to that of Egypt, even though Egypt has more than ten times as many inhabitants. Therefore, the $3 billion in aid from the US is merely a drop in the ocean, but I suppose every little helps! It just pains you Jon that this tiny nation has managed to create such a successful economy whilst your country and the rest of Europe is going to the dogs. I actually take it as a compliment that Israel's success annoys you so much! If you want to continue this argument, I would appreciate some facts and figures. I understand if you are unwilling to take this upon yourself. |

8 June, 2011 - 14:13 Rate this: 0 points | 'the world's most dependent country' That's an exaggeration. There was some dependency after the Nixon Administration came to Israel's aid during the Yom Kippur War. Israel returned the favor by often supporting US allies in Central America. They supplied troops to Nicaraguan dictator Somoza from 1978 to 1979, and aided the Contras. However, Israel doesn't owe the US a blank check, and won't cut its own throat to please a US president. |

Most of this aid is also squandered and siphoned off into luxury villas of fatah officials or disappears into Swiss bank accounts. Israel gives the US a lot. The Palestinians hate the US and incite violence and terrorism against her. It is right that the US supports Israel. They shouldn't give qa penny to people who hate her - like the Palestinians. |
