13 September, 2011 - 10:11 Rate this: 0 points | The question asked was obviously slanted. It was "Do you think your government should vote in favour of or against the UN resolution supporting recognition of a Palestinian state alongside Israel?" It should have been "Do you think your government should vote in favour of or against the UN resolution supporting recognition of a Palestinian state alongside Israel, bearing in mind that the Palestinian Authority does not recognise the existence of Israel and Hamas is committed to the genocide of all Jews?" |

13 September, 2011 - 12:05 Rate this: 0 points | Don't be such a cry baby Jonathon Professional pollsters dont impose their own hysterical opinions and attitudes on respondents. The context of the question the pollsters wanted answering was objectively stated and the question asked. YouGov know what they are doing. The simple facts are that the Palestinians are going to the UN and asking for recognition of their state, and the overwhelming majority of people in France, Germany and the UK support them Live with it. |
13 September, 2011 - 12:12 Rate this: 0 points | You are either utterly naive "KatieCarslake" or (more likely on the basis of your record) utterly disingenuous Professional pollsters are paid by their clients and design the questions to elicit the answers that the clients want. |

13 September, 2011 - 13:01 Rate this: 0 points | Sheer nonsense Jonathon but I can see you are not going to stop crying over this. However, you have been very fond of quoting polls in the past. I assume that given your new found disillusionment with them you will no longer be doing so |

These were the questions posed by the YouGov poll.
The Palestinian people do not have a state. The
Palestinian leadership has announced that it will table a resolution at the United Nations later this month for
countries to vote on whether or not they support
recognition of a Palestinian state alongside Israel, and
upgrade the Palestinian status at the UN.
In principle, do you think that the Palestinian people have a right or do not have a right to self-determination?
Do you think that the Palestinian people have a right or
do not have a right to their own state?
Israel has formally and in principle already stated that it is in agreement with both questions posed but of course the devil is in the detail which was not posed to those surveyed.
The additional question that should have been posed was
Would your answer be the same if:
1) the Palestinians insisted as part of the creation of their state that all Palestinians now living outside Israel would be entitled to live in Israel thereby effectively dismantling the State of the Jewish people.
2) Hamas (a proscribed terrorist organisation) was part of the government of the new state whose founding covenant calls for the destruction of Israel
