When faced with a couple who love Mancs Indie you got to rise to the challenge. So I got in:

This Charming Man (The Smiths), the North Country Boy (The Charlatans), said to the My Beautiful Friend (The Charlatans) for She Comes in the Fall (Inspiral Carpets) let’s Come Together (Primal Scream) with Heart & Soul (Joy Division).

But xxxx, you weren’t marrying Sally Cinnamon (Stone Roses) or Elizabeth, My Dear (ditto) and of course there is She’s Lost Control (Joy Division) & Love Will Tear Us Apart (ditto) so lets get onto safer territory!

Did they Reel around the (Chocolate) Fountain? Were they angry, were they Ill or ugly as sin? Did their irritability keep them alive and kicking? Well, as long as they didn't claim they were Resurrection.

Though that could be a bit embarrassing if it turned out it was the umpteenth girl he loved.
