Saudi press: Israel is better than all the Arabic and Islamic countries.

By mattpryor, January 19, 2011

Hat tip to Israel Matzav and Elder of Ziyon, this article is astonishing (you'll need Google translate or similar to read it, unless you can read Arabic:

Israel is better than all the Arab and Islamic countries with regard to democracy and political integrity (evidenced by the annual lists issued by various organizations of the world)

BDS: Jew Hatred's Other Face

By mattpryor, January 18, 2011

This essay was written by the Israeli historian and writer Moshe Dann and first appeared in YNet:,7340,L-4013059,00.html

I thought it was excellent and worthy of reposting here, because it shows that Israelis are waking up to the nature of the campaigns waged against them around the world. Let's go to the essay:

Jew Hatred's Other Face
By Moshe Dann

Anti-Semites around the world have found a new and more subtle form of attack: Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) campaigns.

Shock horror: Jews build homes. Arabs get upset.

By mattpryor, January 14, 2011

It's the same old story. We've heard it countless times before. Jews build homes in the Jewish State's capital city. Arabs complain about it. The EU, the US and the UK jump on the anti-Israel bandwagon and issue condemnations and describe such developments as an "obstacle to peace". Israel's enemies in the UK are emboldened. After all they have the might of the political establishment on their side. Reasonable and fair minded people are sidelined and labelled as extremists for daring to question this bizarre assessment of the situation.

Lieberman op-ed: We will not be Turkey’s punching bag

By mattpryor, January 6, 2011

I think Avigdor Lieberman is great. His plain speaking always brings a smile to my face. Here is his op-ed in the JPost regarding diplomatic relations with Turkey:

We will not be Turkey’s punching bag

Recent outrageous remarks and events emanating from the country make it extremely hard for us to show restraint. We will react, as any other sovereign nation, to such insults and abuse.

A Muslim country accused of organ theft?

By mattpryor, December 15, 2010

The Kosovo military has been accused of harvesting organs from the bodies of their enemies. Allegedly, this is part of a racket which went all the way up to the Prime Minister, Hashim Thaci, and also included other industrious activities such as heroin trafficking and assassination.

The accusations come from a Europe-wide organisation known as the Council of Europe, which has representatives from 47 countries, and, unsurprisingly, have been vigorously denied by the Kosovan authorities.

I wonder when Jenny Tonge will be making a statement on this to her peers in the House of Lords?

Khaled Abu Toameh on Zionist rats, sharks, AIDS and wild boars

By mattpryor, December 15, 2010

This is an article by the renowned Israeli journalist Khaled Abu Toameh. It appeared in my inbox this morning and I wanted to share it. Toameh highlights the absurdity of the accusations against Jews in the Arab world, often taken as gospel by the uneducated, illiterate masses (and, of course, Jenny Tonge). Enjoy.

What is Responsible for Miseries of the Arabs?

It seems that even the animals have now turned against Arabs.

"Who the hell do you think you people are?"

By mattpryor, November 30, 2010

Nigel Farage sticks it to Europe

In a fiery speech to the European Parliament, UKIP MEP Nigel Farage tells "President" Van Rompolroy that he should the "pin up" for Euro-sceptics. He descries Eurocrats as "desperate" to remove any semblance of democracy from the European system and living in a bunker mentality. He goes on to say that most people in Europe want the entire EU to be consigned to the "dustbin of history".

Regardless of your views on Europe this speech is well worth watching:

Making Muslim Integration Work

By mattpryor, November 30, 2010

An interesting piece by Tony Blair about Muslim integration in Europe has been published in the Wall Street Journal. I'm sorry it's a few weeks old, but I've only just seen it and I think it's highly relevant.

The original piece can be accessed by clicking the link above (which takes you to TB's website), and there is a good analysis of it in standpoint magazine.

The Silence of The Hague - when we needed him to speak out

By mattpryor, November 30, 2010

Always quick to denounce Israel's military actions as "disproportionate", William "The Hague" Hague had the perfect opportunity to demonstrate Britain's "fair and balanced" approach to the Arab-Israel peace process when visiting Palestinian Authority officials earlier this month by expressing criticism of them.

Kauft Nicht Bei Juden!

By mattpryor, November 30, 2010

A stunningly well argued piece here by Denis MacShane on the hypocrisy and self-defeating nature of the boycott / divestment / sanctions (BDS) movement:

In defence of Avraham Reiss

By mattpryor, November 26, 2010

Over the last couple of weeks I have seen some extraordinary attacks against Avraham Reiss, a poster on these blogs from Jerusalem. Some of these attacks, extremely personal in nature, have astonished and disgusted me, particularly ones from one particular obsessive poster here who described him as a "sick and pathetic" individual, and made Nazi references to him.

Boycott The Tindersticks!

By mattpryor, November 25, 2010

British alternative rock band The Tindersticks have cancelled a gig in Tel Aviv, scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of December, in response to "pressure exerted on [them] by people and organisations".

They have announced the cancellation on their website -

DPRK resists illegal blockade

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (aka North Korea, not to be confused with the murderous oppressive apartheid regime at its southern border) today launched a new wave of resistance against its US-backed neighbour.

The curious case of Mohammed Al Durrah

By mattpryor, November 19, 2010

We all remember the video footage of the killing of Mohammed Al-Durrah, a 12 year old Palestinian, supposedly at the hands of the IDF in September 2000. The video was shown all over the world and had a huge influence on public opinion towards Israel, and it is claimed led to the second Intifada in which scores of Israelis and Palestinians were killed in a horrendous wave of violence.

Hezbollah tightens grip on the BBC?

By mattpryor, November 19, 2010

The BBC has suddenly pulled a documentary film series about the assassination of the former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri as tensions mount in Beirut over expectations that Hezbollah operatives are about to be accused of involvement in the killing.

The first of three parts of Murder in Beirut was scheduled to be broadcast on BBC World this Saturday, but the producer was told without warning on Tuesday that it was being delayed.

Jewish students in the US now have legal protection from harassment

The U.S. Department of Education just announced that it will interpret and enforce Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to protect Jewish students.

Now, when Jewish students face a hostile environment at their schools, they'll have legal recourse.

Anti-Israel rhetoric in the Methodist Blogosphere

EDIT: Since this blog was posted the comment in question below has been published.

More anti-Zionist (but of course not anti-Semitic) discourse among the bloggers of the Methodist Church:

British Muslims for Israel

By mattpryor, November 10, 2010

A great initiative worthy of greater publicity in my opinion.

Here at BMFI, we do not believe the Arab-Israeli conflict is a war over land or religion, but it is a clash of ideas. Israel, as a Western liberal democracy, extends equal rights to all of its citizens, regardless of religion or race. Muslims have more rights in Israel than in any other country in the Middle East.

A Clash of Civilizations: My Visit to the UN

By mattpryor, October 20, 2010

The following article was written by Raheel Razah, who is a Muslim Canadian journalist, author and public speaker:

Interesting for anyone who is concerned about the United Nations Human Rights Council and its failure to fulfil its obligations under the UN charter, choosing instead to concentrate all its righteous wrath on the world's only Jewish State. Thanks to Sam from IMED for the link.
